My Organising Principles

"It's a journey"

My Organising Principles

My philosophy about getting and staying Organised: Its simple - Create a "home" for everything; and when you cannot create a home for everything, you must edit.

This is THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU CAN DO TO DE-CLUTTER!

Set aside time for de-cluttering! Each season. De-cluttering is a way of life, not a one-time project. I find I need to do it 4 times a year in order to keep the energy free flowing.
Work room by room and evaluate each object. Do you love it? Are you using it? Does it hold memories? Are you keeping it "just in case?" Don't! - I can't stress this enough....Trust!!!!

Don't hold on to it if you're not using it just because you think one day you will!

Overwhelmed? Hire me to do all this for you!

My Background

Those who know me will likely agree vehemently that organisation is a passion of mine. It seeps into every aspect of my life, including various hobbies, work, and home. Organising is something I am devoted to as I truly believe that maintaining your physical clutter also helps in maintaining your psychological clutter.

My Professional career included global product sourcing , negotiating and buying so I enjoy putting those skills to use. I have also worked in Mental Health and Disaster Recovery, predominantly with those living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I'm very active as a volunteer in my community with organisation's such as Rotary, Red Cross and local Rural Fire Brigade.

I created Life Edited as a part of my own personal journey with Trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I realised that I had a lot of material items around me that were causing so much stress, anxiety and embarrassment and became so overwhelming I didn't know where to start but knew I needed to and wanted to. I can confirm that my living with PTSD is much easier with less clutter and more organisation in my life, it's a part of the ongoing journey.

With over 25 years of "stuff" that I had stored, packed, moved house with (many times) without reaslising it certainly added up, but I was up for the challenge!

Fast forward a few years and I have not only decluttered and organised my own life but that of many friends and family and without even advertising and only word of mouth my results spoke for themselves and I found my true calling and Life Edited was born.

I wanted to find a way to help share my passion with those who want, need, or desire help with gaining back control of their living space "without judgment" through decluttering and implementing an organisational system.

I have an amazing and incredibly supportive (and patient!) husband as well as my adorable dog "Harvey" at home. As homeowners, I don't think I need to state that there are plenty of projects around the house that not only keep us busy but also provide content for the blogs I host on this site.

Now that you know a bit more about me, I look forward to getting to know and embarking on the amazing journey of organisation with you!

P.S I'm addicted to labelling!
